Consider the following scenario:

You are a worker for a human service agency that reviews and approves or denies eligibility benefits for individuals and families needing assistance. You are relatively new to your position. You find yourself making careless mistakes when completing the required forms. Your work is often returned to you for correction, but your supervisor never actually speaks with you. You feel isolated and don’t want to bother your coworkers who are also busy managing paperwork.

  • What can you do to help reduce the frequency of errors in your paperwork?
  • What specific steps should be taken?
