During this term there a holiday that commemorate a significant event in US history:  the Fourth of July which remembers the event in 1776 on which delegates of the Second Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence.  If you desire, you can prepare a an essay on this topic:  “What the Declaration of Independence Means to Me.” 

Prepare a two-page, double-spaced essay, using standard English grammar that includes a title page(not included in the page count).  If you use statistics or direct quotes in the essay, you must provide footnotes.  Also, you need to list any sources used in preparation of the essay on a separate page that does not count in the essay page count.
