Directions:
The primary goal of this course is to introduce you to the European Union and help you understand its role in global politics.
To complete this assignment, you will need to find a recent news article (since January 2016) that addresses an issue your country has with the EU in any substantive policy issue area covered in Section 3 of the course (Enlargement, Single Market, Eurozone, CAP, Internal Security). Then, you will summarize and analyze that article, offering your opinion on the issue as well.
Your reports must include the following three elements:
- Cover Sheet
- Must include: your name, your country, title of the article, citation for article with URL
- Your typed analysis including
- A summary (7-10 sentences at minimum) of the article and the issues being addressed. Your summary should be clearly organized and should include relevant details from the article to address the whos, wheres, whats, whys, and hows of the issue.
- Your analysis of the article and/or the issues raised in the article (7-10 sentences at minimum) that is supported with facts from the article and/or class readings and notes. Here, you should include how the article relates to your country and informs your country’s view(s) of the EU.
Format:
Your reports should be typed, in 12 point font, double-spaced. You should use complete sentences and follow proper rules for spelling and grammar
