Questions on Oliver Sacks and clinical tales

Has any read Oliver Sacks, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and other clinical tales and do you have a copy of it?  Chapters 1, 3, 4

Consider the phenomenological cases that you read from Oliver Sacks (excluding The Lost Mariner for the time being) and reflect upon the following points:

1) Which case did you find the most compelling and why? What neurobiological system was involved in that case example? What was the cause of the neurobiological dysfunction or abnormality and how was it able to be treated? Do a little online research to see if you can find any other research articles or case studies on a similar disorder and share that information with your peers… and be sure to include your references.

2) Considering what you have come to understand about your senses by learning not only about the biological underpinnings of sensation, but also how life could be without them, reflect on the following question:

If you had to choose to give up one of your senses forever, which one would you choose and why? How do you imagine the loss of this one function would impact your life? Do you expect that this loss would have any impact on your relationships with others in your life? Why or why not? How do you think you would be able to cope with this loss?
