Thesis
This can be defined as a deliberate act, which is taken by the individual with an objective of terminating another person’s life mostly to relieve that person from extreme pain and suffering. Over the decade of years, Euthanasia remained to be a controversial issue to be discussed, because different people have the different perspective on the act of Euthanasia.
Discussion
Euthanasia can also be termed as an assisted suicide where one’s assistance for killing is involved, either by providing the means or the knowledge or both. Sometimes it happens voluntarily, where the victim wishes to end his or her life and calls for assistance to accomplish the wish. On the other hand, it can happen involuntarily, where the act is carried out without the or against the wish of the competent individual. In most cases, an involuntarily Euthanasia can be difficult to be distinguished from murder to manslaughter.
Some people are against the act whereas others have accepted the Euthanasia as well as some countries such as Netherlands (European Court of Human Rights (ECHR)) found it lawful. The two diverse groups stand to defend on their side and for that reason, the act of Euthanasia has remained to be controversial or debatable. Some people and religious groups term Euthanasia as a murder act and fight against it. Others claim the act is right under some condition such as prolonged suffering, extreme pain, in the case of infection of some disease such as AIDs, etc.
Conclusion
Euthanasia can be evil or right under some different conditions. It can be used to safe individual from prolonged suffering and at the same time, different people can use it to accomplish their malicious or personal self-interesting, where it can be evil under such conditions. For that reason, it is difficult to say whether it is good to legalize Euthanasia or prohibit it.
