Micoraggression, sociology homework help

Microagressions are:

Verbal, nonverbal, and environmental slights, snubs, or insults, sometimes can be intentional or unintentional, which communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target or attack people based solely upon their marginalized group membership (i.e. Black people, woman, gay people, and minority group in America).

How do you define microagressions? Do you think people have gotten too sensitive, or are these very real and very marginalizing (no wrong answer here, but be sure to support your opinion with specific evidence – examples, reasons…).

Reflect on your week. Have you heard any microagressions said to you? Have you overheard any? Have you said any?

What does the theory of microagressions say about the state of racism, sexism, gender discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, etc…?
