Ernest Hemingway wrote the world’s shortest short story, English homework help

It has been said that Ernest Hemingway wrote the world’s shortest short story. It goes like this:

“For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

Not only did he write that six-word story, but apparently he wrote a number of six-word sequels to that story. ( Ernest Hemingway’s Six-Word Sequels – The New Yorker.pdfView in a new window )

In any case, powerful, interesting stories do not have to be long. In fact, there are books devoted to stories that are no longer than fifty words each!

For this post, I’d like you to do a bit of searching and find the shortest short stories you can discover. They should be fun, interesting to read, and preferably no more than 150 long. See what you can find! Then, please post the stories here for all of us to enjoy.
