For the Final Project, you will create a proposal that focuses on problem solving in the pre-modern world (3500 BCE to 1500 CE). This project will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of the challenges societies and historical figures faced in their efforts to solve complex social problems by applying skills you have developed through analyzing a wide range of historical sources. Written assignment

  1. Must be 1200 to 1500 words in length, excluding the title page and reference page(s)
  1. Must include a proposal that follows a basic organizational pattern (problem/solution).
    1. Discussion of the problem (include background and purpose statement)
    2. Statement of long-term and short-term objectives (in order from most to least important)
    • This section may be combined with the problem discussion if appropriate.
  2. Discussion of solution (proposed program)
  • Explanation of how the solution can solve the problem
  • Methods to be used and procedures to be followed
  • Material, resources, labor
  • Amount of time needed
  • Budget (cost)
  • Disadvantages of solution (can be brief)
  • Advantages of solution (the crux of your argument)
  • Conclusion (restatement of recommendation)

Must use at least five scholarly sources, including a minimum of three from the Ashford University Library. One of the five sources must be a primary source.
